Hinged Mount on 4 Ply Mat Board
If you love the way paper hangs, and want to show off its volume and other characteristics, hingeing your print is a great choice. We typically hinge our prints on 4ply acid free mat board. When framing, we then back that with a layer of archival “no foam.”
We use proper archival tapes to create a T-hinge to attach your print to the mat board. We can use this technique on White, Warm White, Polar White, and Black Rising Museum boards.
Hingeing your print is completely reversible and it is not dry mounted. This method is completely archival.
